Birmingham Film Festival
It was lovely to share an evening at Birmingham Film Festival with some of our cast and producing team of TYPICAL?
We didn’t receive an award but we were grateful to be nominated and to have the chance to open up conversations on what authentic casting and real inclusion looks like in film. After the Creative Diversity Network (Diamond Data) report released this week on the decline of underrepresented voices in the screen industry, we are even more fired up to continue to make change.

We’re excited that TYPICAL? has been selected for the Together! Disability Film Festival 2023.
The festival promotes disabled artists and their work, access & inclusion in the arts, access to disabled-led arts events & activities and employment and self-employment of disabled people in the arts.
Congratulations to our entire team on another excellent moment of recognition.

IMAGINE 2023 - what a show!
November can only mean one thing… the return of our annual community theatre showcase, IMAGINE.
This year’s theme was ‘crowd-pleasers’; songs and dances that are sure to get you up on your feet and ready to have a good time.
This years’ show was a huge success. Congratulations to our amazing performers and well done for all your hard work. Thank you to everyone who came to watch and the staff, parents and carers who helped make it happen.

Another win!
Thank you!
TYPICAL? has been awarded the Best Marginalised U.K. film award in the disability category at the Big Syn International Film Festival. We were presented with the award by the lovely Deborah Meaden.
It means so much to have our film recognised here, as the festival is a part of the UN Centre for Big Synergy and they select films that promote the UN Sustainable Development goals, and we’re so happy that we got a chance to show that representation can be achieved on and off screen. Thank you Big Syn FF.

It’s a wrap!
A message from Sarah @ INCLUSIVITY FILMS:
It’s a wrap! All my vampire dreams came true…seeing the Jerusalem’s Lot sign was a real pinch me moment. One of my favourite books and authors and here I am working on a film, set in ‘Salem’s Lot…
Thank you so much to our incredible cast, crew and producing team for bringing this vision to life. Really proud and excited for this and what we’ve achieved with on and off screen representation.
I can’t wait to scare you all with the finished film next year! Next up, the edit & score.

With 3 sleeps to go until we start shooting, we invited our cast and crew along for an online readthrough of the script. 🌟
We’re ready to shoot our film, smash stereotypes and make change in this industry and the horror genre!

Preparations are well underway for the shooting of our next small film, One For The Road.
One for the Road is a short vampire film written & directed by Sarah Leigh and based upon a short story by Stephen King. Our film is unique because we are forefronting disability through the lens of a horror film whilst at the same time challenging stereotypes and outdated tropes. The film will have an 80s vibe and we're excited to begin this journey.
The team will consist of at least 50% of cast & crew identifying as d/Deaf, disabled and/or neurodivergent. The film is written, and will be directed by, Sarah Leigh of INCLUSIVITY FILMS who is co-producing alongside Diane Janssen & Hannah Chapman of BEDAZZLE INCLUSIVE PRODUCTIONS. The companies worked together on the short film TYPICAL?, which is currently on the festival circuit. Tom Watts is attached as Director of Photography, and so far we have Taha Rahim, Caitlin Sinclair, Jamie Jeyes and Rhiannon Kearns attached as cast.
We have set up an Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign to help us raise money for the making of the film. There is a video to find out more information and some excellent and exclusive ‘vampire’ perks. All donations will go towards the filming and production of this project - if you are unable to contribute, please do share the link. We appreciate you very much.
