Production Overview
After the death of her mother, Jenny, a young woman with a learning disability, forms an unexpected connection with people at her local allotment. As she finds friendship, support, and a purpose, she teaches those around her that love, loss, and resilience know no limits.
Synopsis
This short follows Jenny through the six months after losing her mother. It shows the isolation following her death, the vulnerability of reaching out for community, and that community being tested when Jenny has to move to a residential home. New Bloom offers a small but powerful insight into the challenges that face disabled adults after losing their primary carer, and the strength that can emerge from reaching out for community.
